While I will agree that B&N has a ton of books and is a great place to spend an afternoon (or evening) I must comment on the lack of service that I have received time and time again at the South 76th Street location.
There have been many visits where I needed assistance finding a particular book. I either can't find an associate to help me or the person assisting me seems very upset that I have "bothered" them.
I also have not had much luck with special orders. BIG THUMBS DOWN for such a large store not to be able to get books for me!!!!
I will give B&N 2 stars because i like their cafe and their bargain books.
But when I need special attention or assitance, I'll just keep heading south on 76th till I reach Borders Book Store. A much happier place to shop!
