We've been going to him for 20 years (an oral surgeon recommended His manner, while perhaps not outgoing enough for Kathy M., is very calm, competent and reassuring. He's always been very honest, offering a cheaper, at-home alternative to see if it works for us before going for the pricier in-office alternative. His prices are better than others, never recommeds unnecessary stuff, doesn't have a showy office in an impressive location (less $ for you to shell out for). He also did an amazing job of matcing my son's front tooth color for a temporary filling which lasted for almost 2 years! I just wish I'd gotten the permanent on before it finally failed (I forgot it was a temp!) because the guy we had to go to (Kato was on vacation at the time) charged us more than Dr. Kato would have. :( He's a great dentist I'd recommend to anyone.
