24.95$/month sounds like a deal, right? i have no complaints about the facility itself; maybe one caveat that for a facility of its size and there are four shower stalls for Men. waiting for a shower is the last thing someone wants to do after a long workout. of course you can always try to schedule the correct time when no one else in Lexington is working out there. might as well work out at home, if one goes down that path of thought... the second month of billing, you WILL find a mysterious additional fee automatically deducted from your account. it will be listed under the same heading as the monthly fee of 24.95$ except this fee is 15$. on my records, the first month did not accrue this fee, but the second month saw the fee appear. if you go and ask them about it, they will act like you just punched a baby in the face. if you maintain some level of civility and curiosity you *might get some answers from somone who isnt trained in subterfuge. it boils down to timing your cancellation before a certain period before the next billing cycle occurs, which is semantically up to them; additionally this requires you put this cancellation in with a human resources person, it is at their leisure whether this cancellation is put in before that next billing cycle. they could feasibly delay that cancellation, infinitely; once youve made your stand. Urban Active participates and perpetuates a bait-n-switch tactic which im sure is legal on some level since we signed a 'contract, and further likely contains some vague comment about additional fees accrued and automatically billed at their leisure. what they do not expect is some one like me willing to close a bank account entirely as justification over a 15$ 'hidden' charge. it might as well have been a single penny; im convinced its worth the hassle to end that ridiculous cycle of being essentially harrassed and treated like a criminal for asking about the way they bill you. im giving two stars for the facility, otherwise its a racket.
