Had dinner with a group of people on Friday night. The sirloin steak my friend ordered was simply inedible. He is a steak and potatoes guy with a hearty appetite. He couldn't eat but 1/4 of his steak, and he was chewing, and chewing, and chewing. He said he couldn't remeber the last time he had such a tough steak. I was thrilled when they brought out the bread basket. Looked like a nice loaf of precut french. It was stale. Very stale. I asked the server for another basket, as the bread is STALE. She cheerily returns within nanoseconds and places a new basket of very stale bread down on the table. SIGH. I watched in envy as all of my tablemates received a generous helping of salad. The bowl set in front of me was skimpy at best. I wished I would've stayed in the bar and ordered a pizza.
