This cemetary is located right on the St. Joseph River. The winding road goes through gorgeous old trees. The grounds aren't always well maintained. The grass is often a bit overgrown. A cemetery should help a family ease the pain of losing a loved one. I don't believe that this cemetery does a very good job with this. There are many rules about what you can have on the sites, how long it can be there, and when you can put it down. For example, you can not plant flowers in the ground, you must purchase a shepard's hook and put in a hanging basket. There are certain dates when you can have these up. You can not have any statues or momentos on the ground. A family I knew who lost there three year old son, had an angel statue, wagon and stuffed animal promptly removed. The family had to call the cemetery to find out where the items were. Thankfully, they were returned, but could not be put back on the site. When I drove throught the cemetery the other week, there were branches blocking the roads.
