I had a very bad experience with a clerk at Ralph's grocery and would like to share it to hopefully dissuade anyone from patronizing this establishment.
Saturday night we were in a cab on our way to a bar and I was riding with some friends. We asked the cab to stop at Ralph's so my friend could buy some cigarettes. So he and his girlfriend run into the store while I hold the cab. The clerk asks for ID from my friend and his girlfriend (we are all in our thirties). Neither the girlfriend nor I smoke. So my friend runs out and tells me that the clerk wants to see MY ID. I have to pay the cab driver and plead with him to wait. So I go in and tell the clerk that this is ridiculous as I pull out my ID. He then decides not to sell the cigarettes to us. I ask him his name and he says I don't need to know. The guy was a complete jerk.
