Review content:
Charlie's Down Under is a restaurant located in downtown Defiance. It has a long history of fine dining with good service and excellent food. It has had different names and owners int he past but the current owner continues the tradition. there is a bar and booth area when you enter the restaurant-down the stairs but an elevator is available through the adjoining store which is owned by the same person. There are 4 rooms-w of which can be used as private dining rooms for parties or special occasions. Lunch is served with a daily special-sandwiches, soups, salads and of course pie-Pie is what makes the restaurant outstanding. They are baked fresh daily and are very tempting-YOu can purchase a half-slice or whole slice or whole pies can be ordered. Cost of lunch is between $5 and $10.
Dinner menus include steak, fish and specials. These run from $12-$20 or higher. Fine wine is also available. Service is excellent and very friendly. the owner will move around the room greeting people and making sure all is well. He offers many services to the community and is very much in volunteerism. Int he summer on Fridays,he cooks outside along the street and you can get a very nice lunch for $5. Parking is along the street and is ample. You can make reservations if you wish and if you have special dietary needs, he will make sure that these are met.
