Review content:
I have never written a review before but I have been to many salons across the country and feel as though I must share this experience. I had read excellent reviews on Salon Uno and was excited to get my haircut by the one and only. I was early for my appointment, as I stood in front of the receptionist she did not aknowledge me. Soon the owner, my stylist, came in and I introduced myself as he led me to a shampoo station. Before I sat, I asked him if he would take a moment to discuss with me, while my hair was dry, what type of style I should have. He curtly said he would talk to me after my hair was shampooed. My first thought was perhaps he misunderstood, because what proprietor would ever treat a customer so callously. As I waited for my shampoo I saw the owner, my stylist, at his station and approached him to more clearly explain that I was hoping he would take a minute with me while my hair was dry so I could show him what I was hoping for, what I liked and didn't like about my style. He said to me " I see your hair, it is dry, I will talk to you after you are shampooed" . Stunned I sat for a shampoo with a nice enough young lady, but she was most likely new and knoted my hair. When she was finished, she said how sorry she was for having pulled my hair, and asked if I would like a cut or just a blowdry. "I have an appointment for a cut" she than said she would brush my hair out. She began to pull and I told her not to worry I would brush it out myself. Soon after my stylist came over took the hairbrush without asking out of my hand and began harshly brushing pulling quite a bit of my hair out which was painful. I had to end this dreadful experience and did so by asking him to stop and telling him " I don't think this salon is for me" . His response was that I had hair "you need to pull a bit". I am still in shock over this experience and feel as though it is my responsibility to share what happened so you can consider this story when selecting a salon. Pros: location, parking Cons: everything else I personally experienced
