I JUST RETURNED HOME FROM MAMACITA'S MEXICAN CAFE RESTAURANT IN RAMSEY NJ. A GROUP OF FOUR OF US WENT AT LUNCH TIME. THEY HAVE A LUNCH SPECIAL 7.50 FOR A CHOICE OF 3 MEALS. A) TWO BURITOS, B) A TACO AND AN ENCHILADA 3) I FORGET WHAT THE 3RD CHOICE WAS..I THINK IT WAS 2 ENCHILADAS. LUNCH SPECIAL RUNS UNTIL 3 PM..THEN THEIR PRICES GO UP AT DINNER.
WHEN YOU ORDER A MEAL YOU GET A FREE SOFT DRINK , COFFEE, OR TEA..PLUS YOU GET RICE, BEANS, AND CHIPS WITH SALSA.
I HAVE TO SAY THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT AND THE SERVICE WAS GREAT TOO. WE WERE SERVED QUICKLY AND POLITELY. WE ALSO ORDERED A CHEESE QUESADILLA AND THAT WAS PERFECTLY COOKED.
FOR DESSERT WE ORDERED ONE FLAN TO SPLIT BETWEEN ALL OF US. THE FLAN WAS RICH AND A FEW MOUTHFUL'S WAS ENOUGH. THERE WAS A LOT OF WHAT TASTED LIKE RUM ON THE FLAN WHICH WAS FINE WITH ME.
THE RESTAURANT ITSELF IS CUTE. IT LOOKS LIKE A LITTLE MEXICAN CAFE. IT'S TASTEFULLY DECORATED AND "AUTHENTIC" LOOKING. IF YOU WANT TO TRY SOMETHING A LITTLE BIT DIFFERENT AT LUNCH TIME..GIVE MAMACITA'S A TRY..FOR THE REASONABLE PRICE OF 7.50 A PLATE...YOU GET A LOT FOR YOUR MONEY IN A FUN RELAXED ATMOSPHERE.
