I have been to "many" Japanese restaurants, including international ones, even in Tokyo and Bisuteki in Cambridge is really good. One thing I have noticed is that most Japanese restaurants like this don't have really responsive service, but one thing that can be said for this one is that it is consistent and predictable. I have eaten here about 10 times, evertime making a reservation in advance, and I have always gotten a seat within about 10 minutes for tables of 2 or 4. Some people like being entertained while they eat, and yes, these chef's don't have a plethora of tricks, but they do make really good food and if you can bear with the language barrier, they are very accomodating to requests on how you want your food cooked. It is a very busy restaurant, and I was somewhat skeptical when I read the other posts here, but I am thinking that they have improved their system and the "customer service". Another nice thing is that on Saturday nights they have complimentary valet! Someone also made mention of a bachelorette party...this place would strike me as a cool place to have a party like that...I unfortunately haven't seen any during my visits...but I really enjoy the variety of people you tend to sit with at your table. Some people are nice, some aren't...some are loud, some aren't. Overall it is in fact my favorite place to eat...I usually eat "wayyy" too much and go home stuffed. Sometimes on a weekend, when I make reservations, I will ask them when they have a free spot open for my group. This way I know that they aren't doubling me up with another group. By the way, when they cook the shrimp, they don't make any fire...this is because of the City of Cambridge Fire Dept. (so I have been told) won't let them! (The one in Revere MA is also very good). Pros: Parking, Tasty Food, People Watching Cons: Sometimes hard to get more rounds of beverage.
