This is a really nice studio... not because the facilities are amazing or the space is gorgeous, but because it's a good place for a printmaker to get things done where people won't bother you too much, but are also very friendly, if you want to be bothered. Every one is an artist there, so people take good care of the equipment.I remember taking a class at Cooper Union. Cooper had GREAT facilities that cost tons of money, but the light table was all scratched up from student abuse, etc. You won't find that at MGC. Things might be old, but in workable condition. They have classes in all aspects of printmaking. They have several printing presses and a very small darkroom. You can do lithography, printing, silkscreen, photogravure, aquatinting there. All at very reasonable prices. If you are taking a class, you have a shelf for the duration of the class. But if you buy studio time for a session (about 13 weeks), you also can get shelf space.
