Review content:
It's a red flag when reviews speak in absolutes. "It's the best ever!" or "Hated everything about it!" As is often the case, the truth is somewhere in between. Getting in: Easy before 9pm or on most week nights. Dress up and bring some ladies and it's not bad on weekends. Come with a large group or all guys and, like at any club, you'll probably have to wait. Drinks: The LA average at $7-14. If you want to pay $3 for a beer, why go to a a trendy nightspot? Be specific in what you ask for. If you want top shelf or that cold beer on the corner, you'll have to say so. Tip well up front and you'll get better service all night. The crowd: Mixed. Hotel guests are usually there for business and just trying to relax and meet people. Locals often bring bday boys and girls or friends from out-of-town. Actually, it's actually great for a weeknight date. You can get a table, surprisingly good food, and chat it up in a stylish atmosphere. The view: Beautiful. Maybe the one thing everyone agrees on--the city is amazing from the rooftop, especially at night. You're above the smog, and that alone is worth the cover fee.
