At first I wasn't bothered, but thinking about it now, I am. My wife was given a $150 certificate to this place from a relative. She was very excited. Unfortunately, at the last minute she had to cancel (family issue). I understand a penalty charge - my wife even volunteered one. But no business should take the entire value of a gift card for services not rendered. I understand that ESSPa was out some profit for a last minute cancellation (assuming they would have been fully booked). However, my wife spends a lot of money on personal services, and could easily have become a lifetime client of ESSPa. Now she'll never bother going there. I hope the $150 was worth it. But the idea of a spa being cheap like this doesn't sell me on the whole "luxury" concept. If they nickel and dime on something like this, i just wonder.... Pros: Probably have decent services Cons: Cheap
