Review content:
I was a faithful EsSpa customer for ~2 years for facials, pedicures and waxing. It cannot be disputed that the spa technicians and the quality of services are top notch. HOWEVER, there is a lot more to the spa experience than that. It is supposed to be just that--an *experience*--and the management at EsSpa (particularly the outrageously snotty receptionist) may ruin the nice feelings you have after being pampered during services.
I routinely waited in the lobby for upwards of 30 minutes. One time the receptionist forgot about me, though I inquired at the front desk twice. When I inquired a third time, I was scolded for having waited so long (wtf?). Unless you have LOTS of time to wait around, I wouldn't recommend booking services there. This also stresses out the technicians, as it is up to them to "fit you in" despite scheduling mishaps.
I've had numerous other horribly rude and unsatisfactory encounters with the receptionist/manager woman at the front desk. One time I came out with a bit of a red/broken out face after a facial and she made an inappropriate comment, something like, "oh, your face...you poor thing!" (hello--someone that works at a spa should know that redness after a facial is quite normal).
Last straw and why I won't be going back again--I purchased a $55 facial product a couple of months ago after a treatment. I opened it up last week to use it and it was completely rotten...unusable...smelled horrible and had separated into a little pool of water and some brown chunks. I checked and there is NO expiration date indicated on the product so I went in to EsSpa to ask for a replacement. The receptionist was visibly disgusted by my request. "Well, if you had bought it like, two days ago, I might give you a new one"..accused me (in a very loud voice) of "putting something in the product" and told me there was no way I could get a refund as I "should have used it already". I left my name/number for the owner, but never received a call back.
Pros: quality of spa services
Cons: horrible customer service, sadistic receptionist/manager
