Review content:
I know that many of us don't normally associate fine dining with tourist resorts. However, Victoria and Albert's is a remarkable experience. This is a small establishment on the second floor of the Grand Floridian Resort at Disney. There are two seatings and typically seven courses. So this is not the place to go for a quick bite. There are typically two or three selections per course and more for desserts. The selections change nightly and regardless of your culinary experience, you probably will not have tasted most of the the offerings before... at least the specific preparations. Wine parings with each course are optional. Speaking of wine, there is a very impressive wine list. A harpist (a great musician) plays for the small intimate gathering each night. Jackets are required for gentlemen but not ties. Wait staff are attentive and knowledgeable. When I asked for directions to the men's room, I was personally escorted to the door. While portions are small, by the seventh course I suspect few will want more to eat. Any weight gain in the stomach will be offset by weight-loss in the wallet. Victoria and Albert's is an expensive experience but one that I consider a good value. Reservations are required. This is not the place one would want to eat every night. However, every aspect of the experience is special. Thus, if you have a special occasion this is one place to consider celebrating it.
