I was in town visiting some family for the holidays, (I live in NYC, although I used to live in LA) I wanted to get my father a very nice gift for his 60 birthday/christmas this year. They happen to fall in the same week. After checking out the Rolex selection at a few of the more well known department stores in town, I decided that I would venture off to a specialty retailer. I've got to tell you that Melrose jewelers is now my number one watch destination whenever I'm on the west coast. They had an amazing selection, but more importantly, they salesmen were not pushy and were very frank with me about the various watch types. When you've going to invest a lot of cash in a great Rolex watch, you don't want to feel pressured. The price tag is pressure enough. The guys at MJ's were professional, courteous, and non invasive. I settled on a gorgeous watch that I can't wait to give to my father.
