My wife and I visted this restaurant for a early dinner between 1500-1630 on 19 Sep 2006. We both had a pizza. My deceased sister loved this restaurant and her memory was the only reason I made it a point to stop and have a meal on my way through Ocala. We are from Chesapeake Virginia. The food was very well prepared and presented, and had good flavour. The problem was the service. All went very well until the end of the meal when my wife and I were enjoying conversation after the meal. The Waiter started bussing the table. I very politely asked him to defer bussing the table until after we left. He ceased bussing the table and moved off. About 5 minutes later he comes back and starts again with removing dishes while leaning over in front of me to do so. I once again asked him to wait until we had departed. He replied to this by telling me that he had to do it no matter what, because he would get in trouble with the manager if he left the dishes there while we were sitting there. So now my nice quite dinner with my wife in memorium of my sister has been completely marked by this issue. So I requested to see the manager. After about 5 minutes the manager shows up, and wants to know what the problem is. I explained all that transpired as calm as I could. His reply was that he had been in the restaurant business for 30 years and he was trying to bring some "fine dining" to the city of Ocala, and the removal of dishes while the customers were sitting at it was supposed to be discrete and unobtrusive he is making great effort to get highly skilled waitstaff for the fine dining experience. Well if I ask the waiter to stop and he persists blaming the managers policies for his persistance what kind of "fine dining" is he bringing to Ocala? This restarant management clearly does not get it! A restaurant can have the best food ever, but without good service and atmosphere you might as well stay home and cook it yourself. Pros: Food was good Cons: Management idea of "fine dining" and customer service
