I visited Jamaican Me Crazy with my family on Small Business Saturday. I have been there a few times before and know that it has cute items, perfect for stocking stuffers. The merchandise is nice, a bit pricey, but not too bad. My complaint however is how people are treated while they are shopping. I had my husband, my 7 and 11 year old with me and it was as if we were there to rob them the way we were shadowed around the store. An older woman was constantly near myself and my son, who is 7. At one point he picked up a jingle bell dog collar and showed it to me. He did not immediately place it back in its proper location, but before I could turn back around to him, this older woman was aking him if he could put that back where it belonged. Perhaps it is wrong to let a 7 year old pick up an item in this particular store, but we were LOOKING and SHOPPING, which requires some interaction with the merchandise. However, once this woman stepped into our browsing, I was ready to leave because there are many cute stores in Haddonfield and I can certainly spend my Christmas money elsewhere. In fact, we shopped at the British store afterwards and were not treated as if having two kids with us was a crime. Basically, beware shopping there if you have kids because you will feel as if you are being hounded, at least by that old lady! The mrechandise they carry isn't that cool and although they have a lot of Grateful Dead stuff there, don't let that fool you, it is really a pretty uptight place....if you are a family!
