My husband and I wanted to do something relaxing for our 3rd year anniversary..so we booked the couples package. The receptionist gave us her last appointment on the books for a friday night which was 7:15pm. We arrived 15min. early like they had advised on the phone when I made the appointment , we filled out the paper work (which is really only a page front and back). Whilst we were doing so an attendant came up to us and asked us what we were having done- which I thought kind of strange- aren't they supposed to know what their guests booked their appointments for? She then brought us some sandals and robes- she gave us a quick tour but didn't really say anything about our treatments. My husband and I had a long day so we decided to take showers before out treatments we came out and another attendant met me and from that moment on I knew we were being rushed into our appointment. We went into the Ofuro room and she said verbatim "We are running low on time so I am going to skim right through this" Thomas and I looked at each other confused. She served us our tea told us how the back scrubbing area is used pointed to some cold wet towels she said were kept in a fridge and let us know that a bell would ring and that would be out notice to leave the room in 5 minutes so that she could clean the room and left. we were there for about 25 minutes and the bell rang! we thought we had the room for an hour from the moment the attendant left the room! While we were waiting for our massages we asked someone about this - she said she would look into it but never got back to us. We went in the sauna for a few minutes and our missuses came to meet us and gave us the news that our couples massage that we had booked in the same room were going to be in different rooms due to a a scheduling problem- my missus later told me that the two couples rooms were being used by two single people one in each room. They were very apologetic and we tried to understand but it was a huge let down, specially after our experience in the ofuro bath. The only name is remember is Amanda- she was a sweet heart and worked some magic! We had really good conversation and periods of nice relaxing silence. I loved it she even went a little over in our time together- When I came out to meet my husband he looked so disappointed I felt so horrible- This was supposed to be a relaxing time for both of us! We have a 1 yr. old daughter who likes to be held and loves her dad but his back is pretty tore up on the right side- he explained this to her and he thinks she forgot or was not listening because she worked extra hard on his left side.. then he said that the massage itself was not the greatest. we went into the steam room for a little bit after the massages- that was really great. Their tea and chocolates are pretty awesome too. They gave us about %20 off the regular price because of the booking problem with our massages but heard nothing about the ofuro bath time issue My husband ended up paying %20 for gratuity anyway so it brought it back up to the original price of not $220 like it says on their site but $240 . In all I don't know if I would recommend it or return if not only to have another massage with Amanda - she saved the experience for me, sadly for my husband he will not be returning.
