From the outside, people think Riverside Hospital is a high tech and beautiful hospital. It appears to be a place for the "rich" or "upper class" people of Columbus, Please to do not be fooled. I have had two stays there in 35 days for a total of 7 days. My first stay involved surgery and they attempted to give me a medication that I had to fight and argue with them because I knew that I was NOT to take that medication after the surgery. Once the nurse was able to confirm that I was right, she laughed and thought it was amusing. My second stay was because I was having suicidal thought because of body chemical changes from my surgery (complete thyroidectomy), possible cortisol issus, and an unfortunate painful disagreement with my children. When we arrived the the ER, we were meet by a Social Worker who told us that I would be going to the 9th floor ward which was for depression and I was have 24/7 access to be able to take to a social worker or doctor, if need. I meet with a social worker for 20 minutes on 1 day of of the 5. I meet with the meanest, most disrespectful, rude, and nasty psychiatrist (Robert Huestis) who was a true bully. My second meeting with him was that set me back even further in my treatment. I have reported him to the staff and contacted the higher powers to be and they too have been rude. I am now pursuing more harsh matters. Please don't judge a "pretty" exterior of a hospital assuming the inside care will be just as wonderful. For me, I will continue to stick with Mt. Carmel Hospital from this day forward.
