I was turned on to Rita by no less than 5 girls who work in my office who all seem to have the most beautiful and coolest hair you have ever seen. All of them have head-turning hair to die for and I needed to know who their stylist was. I was tired of my old boring hair style and needed a big change and fast. The girls all told me one by one – “You HAVE to see Rita over at Astor Place, we all go to her, she’s the absolute best!” Boy, were they right. Rita is incredible, an artist and a real professional, who has amazing technique at both cuts and color. I have been to Rita quite a few times now - she is expertly skilled as a colorist and uses this technique called “baliage” for color and highlights which gives you you this super-cool “waves of color” look that is just phenomenal! She also is very gentle on your hair and uses only top notch products. My hair looks healthier now than it’s ever been. Let me tell you, The girl knows her stuff!
She mixes color perfectly to match your skin tone and has a real zen-like approach as a stylist. She is also a wizard with the scissors - when I need a quick cut or a trim, no biggie – she is fast and easy and the results are always pure perfection. I am so comfortable with her, I never have to worry. She knows exactly what I want and there is nothing she can’t do. She is totally personable and friendly with a great sense of humor which is a real plus. She is also a native New Yorker and is hip, sharp and is also wealth of knowledge when it comes to taking care of hair and skin to keep you looking and feeling great between appointments. Rita has a long list of celebrity clients from her days doing TV, but genuinely make us all feel like “stars”. I can’t say enough nice things about her. She is a true life saver – I just love her, all her clients do and we are very loyal! One quick tip that I have found works best when making an appointment with her. Call her directly on her cell phone (973) 886-9205 instead of going through the front desk. Astor Place is very big inside and has many stylists and barbers and can get chaotic. I was actually sent to the wrong person once when I first went there which could have been a real disaster. Accept no substitutes. I will not go to anyone but her, nor should you. Anyway, thank you Rita! You have a happy client for life!
