Perez Nursery is at the corner of Payne (the old Sunset Blvd) and Highway 4. They have their own green houses and fields in Brentwood. They grow everything from mums to beautiful shade trees and their sales can not be beat! They will also deliver for $20 per tree and best yet, they will plant your trees for you at $25 per tree so that you are sure that they have the best possible chance at survival. The knowledgeable staff at the nursery can tell you what is hardy enough for certain locations especially those spots in the full sunlight of the central valley. They were also able to help me pick out a tree that would meet the requirements for the city when replacing a tree in the are between the curb and front sidewalk.
