have never left a spa less relaxed then when I entered the doors...until today. I was running late to my appointment, I called and was informed they would do what they could to accomodate my remaining time. Great. When I arrived I was informed I would be billed for the whole time. The cancellation policy is a half massage if you don't show. There were only 20 minutes of my 80 minute massage left. I asked "So it would have been cheaper for me to not show up?" I was abruptly told to sit. The front desk girls went to the back with the therapist and left the door open to discuss my "rude" behavior. When I addressed the issue that I had heard every word because the door had been left open I was informed I was mistaken. I was also told "Well maybe this isn't the Spa for you." I agree. I went to the spa to find relaxation instead was treated rudely, argued with and not listened to. The girl said "I am trying to be nice" You shouldn't have to try to be nice to a customer. My issue isn't with the cancelation policy, it is with the way I was treated. They could have stuck to policy and made me feel like they were bending over backwards for me, a simple. we are glad you made it, we can still get you in for 20 minutes, we will charge you for half time but are more than happy to get you in for what we can. I would have been happy, it was my personal issue that made me late. I understand they have to run a business, but what they do not have a right to do is to make a person feel worse walking out of the doors than they did coming in. There are some customers who are difficult to please no matter what you do, but to assume that anyone is that customer and treat them accordingly is bad business. Even if an irrate customer were out of place you can find ways to apease them or at least remain professional. I hope the spa looks into training their staff on proper customer service and the usefullness of shutting a door. Pros: The price looked good Cons: I never got to the massage because the staff was so rude
