Businiess name:  Cafe Zenon

Review content:
Some debate over this place is called Zenon Cafe or Cafe Zenon. Overall consensus is the food is really good, whatever name you settle on. The location is in the downtown Eugene core. Just give up -- don't try to find street parking. There's a pay to park lot located directly across the street from the restaurant, and parking garages are within easy walking distance. This place is almost always packed -- and very noisy. This is a big drawback for some, since the sound can make it difficult to hear. They don't take reservations, and a short wait to get a table is very common. You'll definitely get to know your neighbors when you sit inside. Outside are a few tables literally perched on the sidewalk -- these are very comfortable in good weather. Appetizers and meals range from Northwest style to Italian, Indian, Thai & Asian inspired. Chicken Livers Lola is dreamy. Their spinach salad and chicken salad are both offerings I would order any time they appear on the menu. Meal offerings are updated regularly, and the rule of thumb is to order what sounds good -- you will most likely be pleased. Vegetarian offerings are probably the weak point -- presentation is not great, and the flavors rarely hit the high points that Zenon's meat laden meals include. Breakfasts are also good. Oatmeal with fresh raspberries can't be beat, and wonderful omelets. Palace Bakery makes the breads, and those really standout. Zenon used to be known for their fine desserts, and the goodies look beautiful. It is so tempting to order -- while you are waiting for a spot the dessert case beckson you since it's located just inside the front door. What seems always reliable is the September 7th cake and the tart lemon tart. However, we've often been disappointed in some of the treats in recent years. This used to be a place out of town guests clamored to go, now we're more inclined to buy dessert elsewhere and serve at home. So beware... Prices are on the high end. Great wine list, good coffee. If they offer the Espresso Frost give it a try -- sort of a homestyle icy Frappucino that was around years before Starbucks got the idea. PS - This is not a particularly kid friendly place. Because it is crowded, it can be hard to juggle your littlest ones and have a meal. Get a babysitter when you go here -- you'll be glad you did.
