Review content:
The Fresh House is a quaint family owned restaurant located in Locust. When you walk in the door the owner will usually give you a big hug! I call it a mixture of home cooking and American cuisine. It also has a country store inside with Old School Mill food Products and other items for sale reminiscent of an era gone by. They also sell fresh baked bread and homemade ice cream. Overall the food is great...my favorites are shrimp and grits and chicken and dumplings. The ice cream is to die for and so are the sweets in the bakery case (made fresh on premises). I could go on and on. The only drawback of this restaurant is slow service that I attribute to it being a new restaurant. I am sure that in time it will improve as they find their groove.
All in all, it is a great place to go on a regular basis.
The good food, good prices, and friendly atmosphere far outweigh the service issues.
