Businiess name:  Izzy's

Izzy's has come and gone and come back to Eugene. The new location at 950 Seneca is the best one I've tried over the years. A fully stocked, fantastic salad bar is just the start. Izzy's includes all sorts of veggies and fruits, as well as some specialty salads that make seasonal appearances. The salad bar includes potato and three bean salads, cottage cheese, and puddings. Pizza is Izzy's core competency, and they offer a selection as part of the buffet. Samplings range from standard pepperoni and cheese to a pesto, feta and artichoke combo. The Classic Buffet includes hot items like soup, garlic mashed potatoes, spaghetti, fried or baked chicken and macaroni and cheese. Personal recommendations: the sauteed green beans with sweet red pepper strips and the cheese garlic bread. When you are ready to waddle over to the dessert bar, don't miss the cinnamon rolls. If you like bread pudding you may like Izzy's recipe, and you can top it with self-serve soft ice cream. They also feature marionberry cobbler, brownies, and assorted cookies. Kids of all ages can make their own ice cream cones (vanilla or chocolate) -- and they also provide chocolate, strawberry or caramel sauce if you want a little sundae. Dinner selections are slightly expanded and include seafood, steak or prime rib nights. They do offer semi-private rooms for groups, and also have catering services. Lunch runs between $7 and $10 per adult. Take out is available.
