After spending a wonderful, relaxing birthday at the Puyallup location last year I was so excited to try out Jewell's new location. The ladies at Puyallup were so sweet and the atmosphere was small but ever so comfortable. We were having trouble finding the new location so we called to ask for some help and the gal on the phone was immediately snappy. We ended up being a whole 11 minutes late-not for the actual appt time but for check in. We were glared at by the black girl at the front who had answered the phone, then asked by another individual to come back and change. The cozy tea room I had loved so much at Puyallup was wide open at this location. The girls were rushing in and out of the area to get to the laundry/prep room. We would try to relax and every time it was cut short by the sound of voices, stomping heels, etc. My massage was first....the gal was nice but when she came back into the room to do the massage she did not say a word or give me any warning as she ripped the blankets off my whole back and started. The entire massage felt uncomfortable and rushed and you could hear the staff talking loudly in the hall the entire time. Next was the facial...the gal (Bria) was wonderful and took her time with everything, gently massaging my arms, legs, neck and face throughout the treatment. Unfortunately for her there is a home with little dogs next door who will bark randomly during the treatment. She did everything she could to drown out the noise with a fan but I was still distracted. My sister recieved the same facial by a different gal and it was bad. She was slathered, steemed and sent out...no gentle massage for her. So if you want a facial from Tacoma request Bria. Altogether, I would rated the Puyallup location a 5 and the new Tacoma location a 2 at best.
