Review content:
As a Christmas gift, I bought a $200 Century 21 gift card for my mom but it turns out she wants something else at another store altogether. With the economy being what it is these days, I really can't afford to let her keep the gift card and still buy the other item so I figured I would just return the gift card. After all, I have a receipt, the card is never been used... It turns out that I can't. I have my receipt, the card is not used and I just want my money back. Isn't it like just buying an item? The store manager insists that I cannot redeem the card for cash. That's not what I'm trying to do. I am returning the card, I bought it and I want my money back, I have a receipt for it. Nowhere does it say that I cannot return it, having been the purchaser of the card. They just won't give me my money back. I, unfortunately have no other means of disputing it since I paid cash. If I had used a credit card, I would have a third party trying to dispute this for me but instead, I've been forced to swallow a policy that doesn't even exist. All the clerks at the return dept. said that no one has ever tried to return a gift card.... It's ridiculous, there is no precedent for it, therefore, it can't be done... their customer service stinks. Cons: crowded, poor customer service
