Chinois in Las Vegas is not as good as Puck's restaurant in Boston's Museum of Science, let alone a good place in Vegas. We made a reservation 2.5 hours before a show at the Aladdin (very nearby). We waited to be seated, waited to get the menus, waited to order food the length of time it took the table across from us to get their appetizer, eat it, and then receive their entree - and even then it required flagging the waitress down. We decided to try a sushi roll as an appetizer - we'd heard they had great sushi - and the pattern continued. The Sushi chef had one roll prior to ours to get out - it took him 20 minutes to get that one roll out due to his excessive chatter with the bartender, patrons, and any waitress who happened by. Our solitary roll came another 20 minutes later as I was trying to contact the waitress to cancel the roll. Upon receiving the roll, we could not use chopsticks to eat it - we had to eat it with a fork and fingers because it was falling apart so badly. I requested that the food come out as soon as possible - we had ordered a pair of wok dishes that should be really quick to produce - and they came right after the sushi was cleared. The meat tasted starchy and tasted similar to food in Chinese buffets. Then, it took a long time to get the food cleared. We had informed the waitress that we had a coupon for a free dessert with the order of an entree. After getting the food cleared by the water boy (it was requested to go, but they never returned it), the waitress took an additional 15 minutes to come and take the dessert order which further took an additional 20 minutes to come. I called a manager and complained about the comedy of errors and deplorable service which then meant that we had difficulty receiving our check - I had to wave it. The entire debacle took so long that we barely made it to the show. As a positive note, the manager did comp the sushi I had tried to cancel and the dessert that was already free. Pros: The decorations were awesome Cons: food, service, horrible management
