Review content:
I was thoroughly impressed with Dr. Steven Wolpo and his staff during my first visit yesterday. I'll use the word, 'empowering', to describe my experience at Smile Sensations. I'm new to the area, from the West Coast, and was looking for a dentist. I needed a long overdue teeth cleaning. When I called the office, they were able to schedule me within two weeks--good response time for a routine teeth cleaning. What they did not know was that it had been a number of years since my last teeth cleaning. On the day of the appointment, I filled out a simple preliminary form--to let them know things like past illnesses and allergies--and they immediately took me in. No wait! That's amazing for the medical profession. The hygienist, Laurie, did the assessment and cleaning. Not only was Laurie very professional, friendly and thorough--and gentle--but she also spoke with me throughout, helping me to know what I needed to do to keep my teeth in better shape on a daily basis. This was empowering. She also helped me see the connection between total health and the health of my teeth. I didn't expect that, imagining that a dentist was only concerned with the mouth. I'm a trail runner, athlete, and total body health has always been of #1 importance. When Laurie was finished, she consulted with Dr. Wolpo, who then came in to give the Doctor's perspective.
