Peet's has cafes in several locations around Boston, including downtown on Federal St, in Newton Centre, Wellesley, Harvard Square and Lexington.
Peet's roasts its coffees very dark, but they do not taste burnt like Starbucks. That's a huge difference. Peet's coffee tastes like the varietal even though its deeply roasted. The roast brings out a very strong, rich and deep flavor that is not acidic or bitter. It is truly the connoiseur's coffee.
Peet's coffee making practices always insure fresh taste. They don't keep their coffee perking.
They also don't use fake slang like grande for medium and don't overcharge for drinks. For example, Starbucks charges $2.15 for iced coffee, which it describes as "shaken" but which is coffee with ice poured into it. Peet's charges $1.79 for ice with coffee poured over it. And Peet's coffee tastes so good it doesn't taste diluted as the ice melts.
