When the transmission went out on my husband’s truck we called a bunch of places to get a rough estimate on rebuilding it. Gene’s had the best price and my husband new the owner then so we decided to take it to him. They were very reasonable in the time it took them to get the truck done. They let us make payments on it and when we paid in full we took the truck. The priced ended up being $400.00 over what they had told us. We got to use the truck for a month before it started having transmission problems again. We kept calling Gene’s telling them there was a problem but never got anywhere. Then we started stopping by every other day in an attempt to make an appointment to get the truck looked at but no one was ever there. In the meantime we started hearing other people who were having the same exact car problem as we were after having Gene’s rebuild their transmissions. It seemed obvious that the mechanic may have done the same thing wrong on all the transmissions. This was also confirmed when we showed up and found a new mechanic there, he said there was a new owner and he was the new mechanic who just started that day. We told him the problem and he said he is getting a lot of those calls. We asked over and over for an appointment and were never given one by him or the new owner. They seemed as if they did not want to fix the mistake. After another month of trying we gave up and took the truck to a different place to see what needed done to fix it, what needed done was the transmission rebuilt again or replaced, it was ruined because of how it was done the first time. Unfortunately, I do not recommend this business; it is too much of a risk.
