Review content:
I was excited to try Solera after reading reviews on this sight. I was afraid of "snooty". I hate snooty! Got there at 5 on Friday night. Our res. was for 5:30 but we got to town early. Three smiling lovelies greeted us as we came in and offered to show us right to our table. Our server was helpful and friendly. The food was really fine. Couldn't find anything to complain about. Scallops were sauteed perfectly golden and very tender throughout, the duck . . . oh the duck! Get the frickin' duck! The olive tapas seemed like a very small bowl when it arrived but there were more olives there than you thought and I wouldn't have wanted anymore. Someone did their homework. As far as getting full or not, we would have been fine with the four initial tapas we ordered. And we had skipped lunch. We thought we were rushed because we were on our way to a concert so we ordered all four tapas at once. We didn't know how quick they'd come etc. The tapas came real quick and we realized we should have orderd no more than two at a time so they can be eaten whild still warm and fresh. They have a great wine list and lots of sherries but folks, luckily, I stumbled into the Two hearted ale from Bells Brewery. I took a little taste and kept sipping and kept sipping again. Its the most complex beer flavor I've ever experienced. The waitress didn't know anything about it and was going to go get info from the bartender and I just said "just bring me one". Josh, if you read this, please tell the wait staff to write on their foreheads that THIS IS GREAT BEER! If you think you've had a better beer than this, you're drunk. Thanks Solera, we'll be back. We ended up with 5 tapas, 2 glasses of wine, 2 glasses of beer, and 2 glasses of sherry - $83 before my big fat tip. It was a fair price for the experience. The Zappa concert was an incredible climax to the night.
