When I moved to NYC, I figured I would have to schlep out to NJ to find a place to get real outdoors gear, get my snowboard tuned, etc. and that bummed me out, man... Enter Paragon Sports. This place is the real deal. They have a great snowboard / ski shop for whatever you need from tune-ups to getting fitted for ski boots / purchasing a snowboard-bindings-boots package. They also have tons of ski and snowboard apparel as well. But that is just the tip of the iceberg. I am an avid snowboarder, so I never really ventured beyond the first floor (ski/snowboard shop) until recently. Whoa. Paragon is like an REI sliced into 4 pieces and stacked up. This place has 4 floors of everything from running shoes to tennis racquets to ice-climbing crampons to bicycles to MMA fighting stuff. The selection is simply staggering. They even have branded mini-shops, kinda like Macy's for brands like Arcteryx, Marmot, and Patagonia. If you are in need of a North Face fleece or some serious mountain climbing gear, Paragon is the place for you.
