Review content:
My family of 5 just returned from our trip to Comfort Suites Houghton Lake and I am happy to say we enjoyed ourselves very much. (Unfortunately I read the reviews just prior to heading out on the trip, and I was anxious the entire drive.) The room was clean and beautiful. The service was great, especially the person who was in charge of the breakfast. He couldn't do enough to help us. So many choices for breakfast, it was great. I walked 4 miles each day I was there on the treadmill in the fitness center. All the equipment worked just fine. I was disappointed that there wasn't an actual beach, but that isn't their fault, they never claimed to have a beach. If the kids wanted to go swimming in the lake they could have, beach or no beach. The pool kept them busy, although the water was too cold for me, especially for being an indoor pool. The restaurant food was great, we ate there each night we were there, and for a family of five were surprised at the cost. $4.99 for an appetizer of hot spinach and artichoke dip, most restaurants charge $7.99 or 4.99. It was delicious.
