Review content:
After reading some of the other posts concerning service at this restaurant I was more than a little apprehensive.
I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. Our server, Terry, was very attentive but didn't hover, he made excellent menu suggestions and kept us taken care of all night.
The food was wonderful!
Starting with the crab cake appetizer I have to say I've had crab cakes at numerous restaurants around the country and these were some of the best I've had. Large chunks of crab just a hint of chili pepper for a kick made these quite tasty. As a side note, if you like spicy you'll love the guacamole that comes with the crab cake which has diced jalapenos as one of the ingredients!
We had the beef Del Monico and the Bison Del Monico to try some of the specialties (a bottle of Sterling Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon is an excellent complement to the meat). Both were cooked to perfection and the butter seasoning made the meats quite flavorful. The mashed potatoes and gravy were wonderful and the steamed asparagus was just right (not too soft).
We closed out with the Kahlua Chocolate Brownie which finished wonderfully (the wine complemented this too!)
In closing, a good meal, good service and a recommendation to give this restaurant a try.
