Review content:
I'm writing to the "Putting the HELL..." critic who probably doesn't belong beyond the upper east side. Yes, rave reviews AND nominated many years for what? Best dive bar. Hello? With a giant pig outside, were you expecting fine dining? Don't look like a regular, never have trouble getting served, find the staff friendly/accommodating. Nor do I mind a bartender whose old school enough to recall a time when beer was beer and for 7.50 a pitcher, you simply enjoy it being cold. As for "crumbling brick of neighboring buildings", they add to the overall vibe and are a pleasant reminder of how certain things should be left untouched, especially character. You need not try to keep those who understand and appreciate what a dive bar truly is away, but thanks for reminding us why we love hangin at them, especially knowing we won't be confronted with snobs like you.
