Review content:
I became a fan of the Chapel in 2001. They had excellent service, and had a loyal following of low key locals. Throughout the years, I have hosted many parties at the Chapel, from engagement parties, wedding after parties, birthdays, and happy hour gatherings.
Never had an issue with service.
Until the last 3 times.
#1 Dec 2007: Serious attitude from the new staff, we brushed it off, but stopped becoming regulars
#2 April 2008: Same as above
#3 Aug 2008: We ordered 2 drinks, then, 1 minute later, asked another server to please cancel the order b/c we had to leave. We told another server, then walked out of the bar. At the stairs, the original server caome out and yelled, "Hey! Where are you guys going? Didn't you order drinks?" I said, "We canceled it, we need to go!"
Her reply? "F*** You! Stupid F**"
Even the bouncer was astounded, and apologized on behalf of her.
We left because our other friends got ran into by a car while crossing Pine Street by some drunk idiot.
If I wasn't in a rush, I would of let management know that this type of inappropriate behavior from their staff is completely unacceptable. If we were at some trashy dive bar, then sure, I'd understand. But the Chapel? Needless to say, I will never bring anyone there, or ever host another party or event at the Chapel again.
I can count 4 separate events where I have brought in over $1,500 in revenue for this bar; I don't expect to be known there, or be treated like a VIP, yet common respect is to be expected! Perhaps at an upscale, trendy venue in NYC or LA I might expect snobbery in their service, but this is Seattle. Not Manhattan or West Hollywood.
Completely unacceptable!
Pros: Ambience, Location, Outdoor seating
Cons: Service
