Review content:
Update: So now there is a roach problem. Interesting given this place also serves cigarette butts in their food. Roach problem should say something about the sanitary conditions in their kitchen and establishment. Maybe that has something to do with why this restaurant is shut down until the spring for "renovations." Don't eat at a place with these kinds of issues. Much better and CLEANER Italian places in the city that won't offer the snotty attitude you get here. Funny how aimees1 has one restaurant review to her name. Work at Pasticcio maybe? Update: After walking by this place I decided to check it on CS given my dining companions (and others) have panned it. So a month after my meal someone who was dining at the same time as us wrote a review. I'm sure aimees1 has no affiliation with the restaurant at all. I'm not in the business of scamming rests. out of $17. The dish was pasta and the Capri was stuck in a coil of pasta at the bottom of the plate. If I was just looking to save $17, why would I then go and write a review about it? Original: What to say about this place. We took a gamble on a place no one in our party had ever eaten at. Place was celebrating its 27th or 28th anniversary so we figured it probably serves good fare. Well, as it turns out Pasticcio serves fare with cigarette butts in it. After getting to the bottom of a plate, my girlfriend happened upon a cigarette butt. After alerting the manager to the problem, she immediately became uber defensive and claimed that there is no way that a cigarette butt could end up in the food. Hence, it had to have been placed there deliberately by us so that we could try and save $17. She comped us the dish, but at the same time copped a legendary attitude about how we put the cigarette butt in the food intentionally and muttered "I shouldn't even have comped your dish." Those words prompted our immediate exit. But not before we warned all of the remaining diners to check their food for unsanitary trash. For a place that has been in business for nearly three decades, I find it unbelievable that a manager would treat people with such blatant disregard and disrespect. I was appalled at her behavior and her utter lack of professionalism. Avoid this place at all costs. Finally, the non-cigarette butt tainted food was average at best. Not worth accepting average fare if it comes with attitude, disrespect, snottiness, unwarranted accusations, crappy service, and most importantly, food mixed with used cigarettes. Do NOT eat here. Cons: Horrible manager, cigarette butt in food
