It is my guess that George Street Camera stays open solely because of the student population at Rutgers, and mostly because of students taking photography classes. That means two things. First, they carry everything students may need for their classes, so you'll find film, cameras, accessories and developing equipment you'll need that you wouldn't be able to find at most other photography stores. But it also means that they have a captive audience, and can afford to charge slightly higher prices without fear of losing all their customers. So although George Street is a great store with great selection, if you can wait the time it will take for websites like B&H to ship your goods, you're better off buying online.
