Ok, well maybe they aren't quite as old as me... but I do remember going to Pizza Inn as a young teen, when I first moved to Muskogee!
Pizza Inn is not a place that would really stand out as spectacular, or impress most people... but they do have a few things going for them. First, their prices are hard to beat. Even with the wave of Little Ceasars type pizza joints, Pizza Inn manages to hold their own.
I would suspect that a large part of the reason they still do pretty well is because they have been around for so long. They have a customer base of folks who grew up eating there. The owners and managers are members of the community, and that really does make a difference with home town restaurants.
Pizza Inn does offer a good buffet. Not great, but good. They always have plenty of hot, fresh food out, so you are not stuck fighting the other customers for the only fresh pizza out, and not stuck with pizza that has been sitting for hours. Freshness does seem to be a priority... big plus there! They also offer a nice, fresh salad bar. I think a salad bar can tell a lot about a business... and that is one thing I usually notice first. Pizza Inn constantly has their employees checking and restocking, so you don't see old, wilted vegetables sitting out.
Another plus for Pizza Inn is their cleanliness. I absolutely refuse to eat at a restaurant that is not clean. They pass my inspection every time.
All in all, there are way more good things than bad, when it comes to Pizza Inn.
