I've been to the Macaroni Grill about three times over the last several times, and I have to say that I've never been impressed. I know a lot of people who really like it, but I've just never had a good experience there. The good: 1) you can color on the tables, which are covered in white paper; 2) they have open kitchen areas, so you can watch the chefs at work; 3) it has a classy kind of feel to it. The bad: the food. Tonight I had the Lobster Ravioli and it was just kind of gross, actually. The appetizers (we had the sampler platter) were okay, as were the salads, but not anything to delicious.
Overall there are several mid-priced Italian restaurants in town that I'd rather go to than this one.
