This is a great little hole in the wall- literally. With no seating inside and 2 wooden benches outside Gregoire is gourmet takeout food. Their signature dish has got to be the deep-fried mashed potatoes. The light crispy coating is what makes this such a treat with each bite. I've also had a few of their sandwiches which taste very fresh. It seems to be another local favorite in Berkeley as many people came in greeting the owner and staff as if they were regulars. Their menu seems to rotate each month but I've always seen the skirt steak sandwich on there - which I had to try today and found it to be okay...perhaps not worth $7 but reasonable considering the choices. I definitely recommend Gregoire if you're in the neighborhood.
