I took my 114K mi. '98 Ranger 2WD with a very noisy Ford 7.5" rearend to B&D after discussing my options with Brian Elbert, the owner, several times over the phone. It was obvious that Brian has a tremendous amount of experience with many types of driveline components. He posseses traditional Midwestern values and will not try to upsell you with unneeded parts. He was right on with his estimate. Brian rebuilt the rearend with all new bearings and seals, and setup the ring and pinion for not much more than it would have cost me if I had attemped to do it myself. Probably less because I would have replaced the ring and pinion. Turns out the R&P was in very good condition as Brian surmised that it would be. The problem was a carrier bearing that was almost ready to fail which was allowing the carrier assembly plus the ring gear to move about 1/16" side ways. Experience counts when it comes to this type of service. Plus he had it done in less than a day. The rearend is now as quiet and as smooth as the day it rolled off the assembly line. Maybe more so.
