hillcrest village apts

Have lived here 5+ years and regret it more and more each day. I have NEVER in my life had to deal with the kind of unprofessionalism that I have seen here. My husband and I are educated, hard working professionals as well as parents and community members... if you fit a similar description and are looking for a place to live in/around Schenectady and Niskayuna, PLEASE do not consider Hillcrest Village at all. You will regret it every month you send away your rent check. A minimum of 3 different property managers, 2 different property companies and countless numbers of quasi-maintenance people have come and gone. No one is accountable for or reliable when problems occur. Hillcrest will gladly take your rent but then ignore your concerns and complaints. With each passing year, another amenity disappears while the rent continues to increase. Oh- and don't ever let your rent check cross in the mail--- they slap a late fee on you so quick its almost comical. Money-hungry management destroys what could potentially be a lovely apartment community to live in. more

Maintenance is so poor that complaints of 05/27/10 - is not attended till 06/02 which is of Air con not working at all. Imagine Hot weather and apt is Sun Facing and temp is 95 F. and suggestion we get is to keep windows open. No body is answerable for such type of things. there is no escalation point to management more

i have been in this apatment for about 3 years.its a nice location and spacious .there are single,2 bedroom apartments which are quite comfortable.the drawbacks are that they are old fashioned.they dont have diswashers,closets are ols fashioned and the building are so many years old because of which the piping are also old and sometimes resulst in flooding of the apartments. but they are trying to fix these things and making hillcrets a better place to live. the rent is also resonable and they have monthly,6 months and yearly lease which is easier.there are lots of people living there and each of them are from differents countries.its a nice place to get friendly people. as far as safety is concerned it is one of the best apartments. more
