Fun, elegant and honest 12/6/2010

I came to agnes b after hearing of the incredible variety of men's fashion forward pieces. I was met with a knowledgeable and enthusiastic sales staff that were honest with how things looked on me. As a result I left with some fantastic items that enhance my unique wardrobe. Their button ups are classic with modern variations and fabrications--I haven't stopped wearing the Liberty print shirt (that comes with matching boxers!). I highly reccommend stopping in whether for elegantly classic items or more relaxed pieces with a rock'n'roll edge. more

It's Not All That 2/28/2010

I just want to chime in to confirm what others have said about the Agnes B shop on 16th Street. The window displays are very nice, but that's where the ""nice"" ends. I saw a dress that I liked in the window. I didn't have time then, so I went back about a week later (about a week ago) to try it on. First of all, when I walked in, I was met with blank stares, like my presence was a nuisance. Not seeing the dress, I asked the sales lady about it. Responding as if my inquiry was incredulous, she said ""that was winter this is spring,"" which I took to mean that the dress was from the winter collection and they were now carrying the spring collection. It was only the second week of February, but OK. I really liked the dress and wanted it (without going into it, the dress was very unique and super cute), so I asked her whether the dress had sold out or if she thought it could be in another store, or if there might be anyway possible to get it. She squinted her eyes and looked at me in disbelief and actually said, ""what difference does that make?"" Huh ? I just left. Funny thing, there were 4 salespeople in the store but not a single customer besides myself. I guess that's the way they like it. Pros: Nice window displays Cons: Everything else more

you would be humiliated at this store 5/11/2009

I purchased a watch as a gift and two days later, the gift receiver found one of the function was broken when the gift was opened. Imagine how embarassing it felt from the frist place. I followed the suggestion from this store and took the watch to Soho store for an exchange on Saturday because the SOHO store had more watch selections. After I showed the watch to the Soho store sales. The Soho store sales told me that ""my store could not be stuck with a broken watch"" and refused to assist me further. She said if your watch is not broken, I would allow for an exchange. There is no good for us to keep a broken watch at the store. When I ask her so I as a customer should be stuck with a broken watch? She immediately told me that their customer had the same problem yesterday and advised me to get a full payment back as my rights as a customer at the Union square store. I went back to this store to see what they could do for me. The store manager there told met ""it's just a minor problem, you don't know if the watch is broken"". Remember, the Soho store told me that the watch was broken from the first palce. ""I cannot refund the money becasue our policy is only exchange for store credit."" She said she would get the watch repaired for me or she would order one from Paris because the watch is the last one in U.S. Why would I pay for an ""repaired watch"". I told her that I do not want to wait for weeks and I lost the confidence in the quality of their product and service. The store manager then told other sales that ""see, she just did not understand and has an attitude, no wonder she would be treated badly"". She even argued that ""we are not GAP, you cannot get refund at any retailed store"" When I told her that Tiffany would refund a defective good at different retailed store. She said there is only ONE Tiffiany in Manhattan, so you cannot do that. There are actually two..... The store manager refused to assist me any futher and told me that she could only call me back onTuesday because the headquarter is not opened on the weekends, and she is off on Monday. When I asked when she could call me back, she said ""I don't know! There is time difference between NYC and Paris"" "" I need to call ""paris""..."" then she said "" fine, I would call you at 11am, how about that!"" I spent two hours running between Soho and Union Square and was humiliated by two store sales!! After reading other people's shopping expeirence here, I realize I am not alone...Their service is indeed problematic and bad!!! Now I had to write a complain to their headquarter to see if I could get a refund....so be careful when you purchase goods from Agnes B. Their refund policy might cost you more time and money.... Cons: really bad costumer service more

Rudest Staff EVER!!! 5/10/2008

My sister and I went into Agnes B after seeing a pretty dress in the window. After browsing, and not seeing it on the racks, my sister asked to try on the one in the display. The salesgirl said ""It's not going to fit you"" and ignored her request. When she asked again the other salesgirl grumblingly went to fetch it while the first one stood behind the counter making comments: ""Pffttt....it's not going to fit you."" As the salesgirl walked by with the dress, she demanded ""Do you wear face cover?"" Not know what she meant, my sister said ""Uhh...no...."". The salesgirl barked ""DON""T NEED TO GET MAD- IT'S A STANDARD QUESTION"", and slammed the dress into the dressing room. We walked out without bothering to try the dress on. It was the most unpleasant shopping experience ever and we will never go there again. Pros: Some nice merchandise, on occasion Cons: Extremely RUDE staff and overpriced merchandise more

Rude, uppity staff 7/15/2006

love the clothes here, but the staff at the union square store needs a serious attitude check. I've been tailed around like I'm going to steal something, and one of the saleswomen once walked into the dressing room uninvited when I was half dressed under the guise of trying to be 'helpful' when I didn't ask for any. I've seen them get into arguments with other customers too, so I know it's not just me. goto the Soho store instead -staff is much nicer there and the selection is better too. Pros: Cute clothes Cons: Condescending, rude saleswomen more
