Good food, lousy service 2/9/2011

I've never written a restaurant review before, but I felt compelled to do so after yesterday's visit to Flavor in Sandy Springs. Having drven by many times, I finally decided to swing in for a late lunch. The place was mostly empty, which was fine by me. I was looking for a place to relax and enjoy a leisurely lunch. I found a young man and woman behind the counter who were busy at something. I studied the menu on the wall, and when I was finally addressed, placed my order. I stood there a few moments, then wandered toward the end of the counter. I then wandered back. The woman asked if I needed something else and I indicated that I was just waiting for my sandwich. She told me to sit down and they would bring it, which would have been nice to have known beforehand. I found that most of the tables had not been bussed and there were napkins and other debris on the floor. As I sat down I realized that I had not gotten the water I ordered, so I went back to the counter. The woman clearly thought I was pretty dumb at this point. She told me that the water was in the back and gestured toward the cups, which were tough to see stacked in the corner. I asked a waiter passing by where the cups were and he showed me. I sat back down and my sandwhich arrived. It was delicious and quite large. At the end of my meal I got up once again to ask for a to-go box for the remainder. Once again I was told to go to the back of the restaurant. It took me a while to find the boxes (they are on the top shelf), but I did finally get one and boxed up my food. more

Fresh Flavor in Sandy Springs 10/16/2010

As I walk into Flavor Cafe Bakery, I am greated by a beautiful atmosphere with copper topped tables and pleanty of comfy booths. Despite the amazing smell of fresh bread and pastries that I LOVE, I decided to sit on the outdoor patio to enjoy the beautiful weather. This is my fourth time back to Flavor since I've discovered it, and definately not my last. I have enjoyed their yummy breakfasts with my husband. We love the turkey bacon, chicken sausage, and especially the french toast!! For lunch I reccomend the chicken tortilla soup, and any of their tasty salads. I just recently came in for dinner, where they have table service in the evenings. It was a nice change and they offer great food for an even better price. With options like bistro filet, salmon, tilapia, and even mahi mahi, nothing was over $13, and it's all served with a soup or salad. Above all, I love Flavor's desserts. They have a great chocolate mouse cake, and my favorite tiramisu!! I have told many of my friends about this restaraunt, and was even fortunate enough to meet the owner. If you are ever in the Sandy Springs area, please stop in for some of the best food you've ever had!! more

Not what I expected 8/16/2009

This place was recommended by someone I really admire. He said they had great coffee and that was enough for me. Pros: location Cons: crowded, no direction, no follow up from staff more

The Best fish dinner and desserts in the town 1/8/2008

We went to Flavor as a large group for dinner and have been back many times individually. It's a great place for friends or family gathering or even meetings. The atmosphere is comfortably chic and You can actually carry on a conversation and hear each other talk while you enjoy the fresh delicious dinner entrees or the beautiful mouth watering desserts with gormet coffee. The prices are very low comparing with other quality restaurants. We and our pocket books left very happy. Pros: Fresh, great food and desserts with incredible price Cons: Wine and beer selections although nice but limited more
