If you have kids you know how important a birthday party can be and you also know how incredibly expensive it is to celebrate such an occasion. First there are presents to buy and you have to decide where the party will be located at (it seems like the older my kids get, the more extravagant the parties are-- Ashland kids do not merely eat cake and open presents-- they have to DO something too), which leaves a parent feeling pretty wiped out financially speaking. I had to stop myself from telling one of our daughters, "You DO want to go to college someday, don't you?," as she envisioned taking 30 kids to the skating rink one year.
Anyway you either bake a cake out of financial necessity or you buy one. If we had money to toss around we would buy one and a Yummycake is what it would be. We've had them at other peoples birthday parties (becoming an Ashland standard) and they are very good. They are, well yummy!
