I keep going back. I dont eat there very often, but the food is excellent. (I gravitate towards the bar.) John the owner used to work for Dean Ferring in the Mansion days. His expertise in the kitchen is bar none. The bar atmosphere is great, and the regulars are friendly and you might even find attrative women dancing on the bar on occasion. If you live near GeorgeBush and 75 this is a place to check out for a quick bite on a date, or for a beer and a burger after 18 holes. Thierry, Scott and Austin always keep the bar fun. Try the roast beef sandwich...it rocks. Pros: Fun place to hang out. Cons: Gotta go outside to smoke...like everywhere in the world now...but a great patio. more

Ye Shire Tavern: Great staff, amazing owners and phenomenal food. Bar/pub setting, yes. But if you like that environment like we do (it's generally all we gravitate towards), you will not be disappointed with this place. The food never disappoints, I can always find the latest and greatest recipe, created solely at the hands of the owner. I highly recommend this place, especially on a Friday night, Saturday night, during football season or anytime. Think of it as a bar/pub that your best friend owns! I checked this place out one time it was very enjoyable. the prime rib sandwich was great. i will defiantly be heading back that way soon. to the man who wrote AVOID review... "bahh hum buj!" you should hear what the staff and other guests had to say about his reviews in other blogs. i read he almost made the waitress cry several times and the other guests on their reviews said he had a stick up his butt since he got there. like i said "bah hum buj" u bitter old man... The shire tavern I found was a wonderful place to go. I have been several times. The service there is always friendly and prompt. The food is amazing!!! Cant get enough of that Salmon fillet, and the medallions are to die for (when they are featuring them). The owners are always very friendly and the bartenders are great! I love the atmosphere and the setting of the restaurant. I have always had a great time when I go. Defiantly check this place out!! Pros: Everything but mainly the food. Ye Shire should close their doors, over-priced poor food and even poorer service. My Valentine?s Day party of ten made our reservation well in advance, hoping for a special dining experience. Unfortunately upon arrival, we were seated at a table with folding chairs. The waiter explained that folding chairs were used because Ye Shire had over-booked the date and folding chairs were all that were available. We ordered drinks and waited 25 minutes; all the while the folding chairs became increasingly more uncomfortable! We had to seek out the manager to ask for help and he was eating food, with his fingers, in the open kitchen! We asked for ?Real? chairs at our table and his comment was, ?The folding chairs were more comfortable.? It is sad that you have to demand a ?comfortable chair? at these prices! Once our meals were served, over half were not cooked to specifications. One of our guests requested asparagus on the side and was informed that asparagus came with only ONE MEAL that night and was not available as a substitution! Multiple requests to speak to the manager or owner were ignored! And last but no least, the owner?s wife was sent to tell us that, ?We were being ridiculous to ask for a side dish of asparagus?, flipped her hair and huffed away!
