Best Greek Restaurant in Denver..Opa!!! Opa!!! 10/23/2005

This authentic Greek restaurant was just awesome! The food is so divine and the service is impeccable and very friendly (note: I was traveling alone). Anyone who doesn't like this Greek restaurant just doesn't know good Greek food. They have a lot of authentic Greek foods that are DELICIOUS. Be sure to order the "Flaming" Saganaki!! Yanni's will be added to my list of places to return again and again....hopefully with my wife and boys in the near future! So please treat yourselves to the best Greek restaurant in Denver. Opa! Opa! Pros: Saganaki, Authentic Cons: Couldn't find one more

Friday was my first experience dining at Yanni's. We had barely taken our seats when our first complimentary shot of Uzo arrived. We started with the combination platter to taste a variety of offerings. This came with Loukaniko(greek sausage with lemon), kalamaria(calimari), spanakopita, Kalamata olives, dolmades(stuffed grape leaves), Feta cheese, cucumbers, and tzatziki sauce. I thought the spanakopita was very good and the combination of sausage and feta was great. For entrees we tried the sliced lamb cooked on an outdoor grill, and two of the evening's specials: the lamb shank (which literally fell off the bone) and the veal chop stuffed with spinach, cheese, and walnuts. All were good. The wine list features many greek wines (most in the $25-$40 range). For dessert we tried the tasty home made yogurt with honey & walnuts. Finished off with some strong greek coffee. Service was friendly and helpful. We'll be back! Pros: Authentic Greek, Complimentary Uzo, Friendly Service Cons: , Pricey Wines more

My wife and I honeymooned for three weeks in Greece in the fall of 2000. Yanni's is truer to the spirit and quisine of Greece than any restaurant we have been to before or since our honeymoon. A simple selection of authentic Greek dishes is offered. All of the lamb dishes are excellent and are prepared on an outdoor grill. The tarama (Greek caviar) is the best since Crete. The ambience is in the truest Greek spirit. Complimentary Uozo shots are provided throughout your meal whether you want them or not. Drunken Greeks frequently smash plates at wedding parties in the banquet room. You will never be rushed for your table, but you will wait a while for your check. Pros: Good parking, attractive decor Cons: Pricey more
